Importance of SEO

Why SEO is important

The main key concept of SEO is that, it can target different types of search, i,e,, Local Search Engine Optimization, Image Search Engine Optimization, Video Search Engine Optimization or any Specific Industry based Search Engine Optimization.

Now days, it’s mandatory, if someone launches a new website, the website owner wants that his/her website displays on first page of SERP, or display on above position than his/her competitor website. The Higher it “ranks” on SERP, the more users will visit the website. And this result can be achieved by only using SEO technique and an expert & experienced Search Engine Optimizer.

The motto of any website is to provide right information to the users that visit on website. The problem that arises with maximum website is that, the website owner doesn’t know the search engine protocols or basic functioning of search engine- how search engine works. They use the Black Hat SEO strategy (Explained Below), to rank their website in very less time, and violate the Search Engine rules and protocols, hence results in, Search Engine penalize the website by downgrading the website ranking or blacklisted the website.

In white Hat SEO, the Search Engine Optimizers concentrates on both, Search Engine policies as well as User View. Websites that uses White Hat SEO are generally ranked on higher positions on SERP of search engine. Providing the right information and original content to the visitors of website and using the right Meta tags for the website is a part of White Hat SEO.

The other way is Black Hat SEO that only includes the Search engine working and neglects the User view. Black Hat SEO technique only attempts to increase the website rank by disapproving the search engine protocols and rules and involve deception.  For e.g., Extra keyword stuffing in the meta description of website source code is considered as a part of Black Hat SEO strategy that only focuses on placing the website on high ranking positions of search result page because the meta description is only visible for search engine, and doesn’t related to user view, thus by-passing it.

Sometime another strategy is used, called Gray Hat SEO that is combination of both White hat SEO strategy and Black Hat SEO strategy.

SEO

SEO or search engine optimization is a methodology to increase the ranking or position of a website in Natural or unpaid or organic search result of a search engine. In other words, SEO is a technology to rank your website or blog on the top positions of search engine result page (SERP), without using any advertisement method.



In many definitions, SEO is defined as part of Digital Marketing or Internet Marketing. Other parts of Digital marketing are Social Media Optimization (known as SMO), Search Engine marketing (known as SEM) and Social Media marketing (known as SMM). Social Media Optimization (SMO) is the promotion of website or blog on the Social Networking Sites (SNS), like, Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus etc. Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Social Media Marketing (SMM) is marketing or advertisement of business website or blog on search engine and social networking sites, e.g. Adwords is used to display advertisement on Google search Engine result pages (SEM) and Facebook provides a ad marketing strategy or website promotion facility to the users of site (SMM).

SEO includes some changes or implementation in source code of website, called on page optimization and creating backlinks of website by performing various activities on different websites, called off page optimization.  On page optimization is first activity that is primarily performed on website and is only performed one time. Off page activity is performed on daily basis and is a regular process, performed till the goal is achieved, i.e., Website displays on top rankings of SERP.

Approximate only 40% app users goes to second page of  SERP and around 10% users visits the third page of SERP. So, it is mandatory for any business website or blog to use SEO, to display website on first page rankings of SERP, mainly top three positions of search engine. SEO is also mandatory to tell search engine that there is a website that provides a specified product or services for the search engine users.  It is difficult for any search engine to figure out any website without performing SEO activities on it.



In today’s Internet world, Google Search engine is very big player, approximate holds 80% share. Bing Search engine is part of Yahoo and holds approximate 12%-15% share of search engine market. Left share is hold by other search engines, i.e., AOL, Baidu, or any other search engine.
